Troop 302 meets once per week in the evening. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, meetings are every other week.
Troop 302 is a member of the Northampton District of the Minsi Trails Council of Scouting America.
Since 1910, Scouting America has been preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Scouting America aims to equip young people with the tools and experiences necessary to develop positive character traits and contribute to their communities, both in the outdoors and locally.
Membership in Troop 302 is open to boys ages 11 through 17.
Imagine a program that aims to prepare every eligible youth in America to become responsible, participating citizens and leaders who are guided by the Scout Oath and Law through:
Character Development
Leadership Development
Citizenship Training
Personal Fitness
Troop 302 is a scout-led troop. That means that adults act as supervisors, mentors, and guides while the scouts run the program. So let's start at the scout-level and work our way up.
Scouts in the troop are split up into Patrols. This is the primary structure of the troop.
Each patrol is led by an elected patrol leader.
Patrols are collectively led by an elected Senior Patrol Leader and an Assistant Patrol Leader.
Supervising the patrols are the adult volunteer leaders: Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters
Of course, there are many more youth and adult leadership positions within the troop as well.
